Winter Car safety tips

I wanted to start this post with an insightful quote about life being too short but apparently life is too short for everything, and for me life really is too short to bother finding a "Life is too short" quote that fits what I'm trying to say life is too short for. The irony.



So, I'm going to come straight out and say it; life is too short not to have fun.

Life is too short to listen to other people tell you that you can't, you shouldn't, and you mustn't.

(would you look at that?! A quote came to me. It must be fate.)

Life is too short, in short, to not go out and own it. Own whatever you want. Including cars.

Growing up in a house full of 4x4s - many of which I learnt to drive in - I was destined to be a 4x4 owner and finally it's happened.

It's only little, and it won't go off-road like the buses I learned in would, but it's mine.

With winter descending on us in the last week with sub zero temperatures and threats of snow I figured I ought to get the little beast ready for some winter weather. Living in the 'shire snow and ice is a real threat so car safety* is key, and it's quite easy. After getting some replacement tyres I went down my list of things to check, and it's what I'd recommend you do too:

• Oil
• Washer fluid
• Coolant
• Wipers
• Breaks (had these checked by the garage)
• Headlights 

Making sure you're safe when you're driving is paramount. During winter you should always keep a spare blanket, first aid kit and emergency chocolate flapjack in your car. You never know when you're going to need it. Really.

Life is too short to be stressing out about slipping all over the road, or whether you're car's up for the job of driving in winter weather so get it sorted now and you don't have to worry. Life is too short.
